1. Who we are
Cyber Desk is an event platform developed and operated by Friendly Infotech. It lets people discover events, register for passes, book stalls and find or list event service vendors. This policy explains what personal data we handle and why. By using the website you agree to it.
For event registrations, the organiser of the event decides why your data is collected and we process it for them. For vendor listings, newsletters, enquiries and data packs we decide the purpose ourselves.
2. Information we collect
- Visitors and exhibitors: name, mobile number, email, company, city, passwords (stored only as a one-way hash) and the answers you give on event registration forms.
- Vendors: business name, contact person, phone, email, website, city, services, photos or logo, plan and payment status.
- Organisers: event details, contact person and the data of people registered for the event.
- Payments: transaction status, amount, order and payment ids. Card, UPI and bank details are entered on the payment gateway (Razorpay / Cashfree) and are never stored by us.
- Enquiries and newsletter: what you type in contact, enquiry and subscribe forms.
- Technical data: IP address, browser type and security logs, used to stop abuse and fraud.
3. Why we use it
- To create and secure your account and issue passes, bookings and receipts.
- To show vendor and event listings, and to pass enquiries to the right person.
- To verify payments, prevent fraud and keep the platform safe.
- To send service messages (passes, approvals, payment receipts) and, only where you agreed, event news and offers.
- To keep a partner directory and sell data packs only for people who agreed to be listed (see our Data Sales & Marketing Policy).
- To meet legal duties such as tax records and lawful requests.
4. Consent and your choices
Optional boxes (for example "share my details with partners" or newsletter) are never pre-ticked. You can withdraw consent at any time using the unsubscribe link in any email, or by writing to us. Withdrawing consent does not affect earlier lawful use.
5. Who we share data with
- Organisers receive the registrations for their own event.
- Vendors and visitors: a vendor's phone and email are visible only to signed-in users; an enquiry you send goes to that vendor.
- Service providers that help us run the platform: payment gateways (Razorpay, Cashfree), email delivery and hosting, bound by confidentiality.
- Buyers of data packs: only records marked as consented and not unsubscribed.
- Authorities when the law requires it.
We do not sell personal data of anyone who has not agreed to be listed.
6. Cookies and local storage
We use only essential cookies and a few browser-storage items. Details are in the Cookie Policy.
7. How long we keep data
Account and listing data is kept while the account is active and for up to 3 years afterwards for disputes and legal needs. Payment and invoice records are kept as long as tax law requires. Event registration data follows the organiser's retention choice. Unsubscribed contacts are kept only as a suppression entry so we do not contact them again.
8. Security
Passwords are hashed, forms are protected against misuse, access is role-based and pages are served over HTTPS. No system is perfectly secure; please use a strong, unique password and keep it private. Tell us immediately if you suspect misuse of your account.
9. Your rights
Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the Information Technology Act, 2000 you may ask us to give a summary of your data, correct or complete it, erase it, or withdraw consent, and you may nominate someone to exercise these rights for you. Write to our Grievance Officer (see Grievance Redressal) and we will reply within 30 days.
10. Children
The website is not meant for children under 18. If a child's data has been submitted by mistake, contact us and we will delete it.
11. Changes
We may update this policy. The date at the top shows the latest version; important changes will be announced on the website.
